Places Of Interest
City Palace, Udaipur: The hill top positioning of the palace enables the tourists to get a panoramic view of the whole city. Starting from 1559, the present complex standing on the east bank of Lake Pichola, has been contributed by several kings of the Sisodia dynasty. The architecture is a fusion of the Rajasthani and Mughal forms. The picturesque view of the white palace complex from the other shore of the Lake is often compared to the Greek islands, such as Mykonos.
Lake Pichola: An artificially created freshwater lake, Lake Pichola derives its name from the nearby Picholi village. There are four islands situated on the lake, namely, Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas. Tourists visit the place to experience the vivid color gradations at the horizon during sunset and the 360° view of the monumental structures situated on the shore of the water body.
Jag Mandir: Feel the Rajputana royalty at this place, where served as the summer resort to the kings. This palace is also called the 'JagatMandir' in the honor of MaharanaJagat Singh I, who finished the construction of the palace situated on an island in the Lake Pichola.The three storied Jag Mandir Palace is an architectural marvel standing on water.
